To be picky
Jen: Did you get a chance to review my presentation? How does it look?
Jason: It looks great to me, but keep in mind that our new boss is very picky so double check that you have exactly what he wants.
Jen: Oh really? I didn’t know he was going to be so picky about it. Thanks for the heads up.

본문에서 제가 “Did you get a chance to review my presentation? How does it look? 라고 묻자 Jason이 “It looks great to me, but keep in mind that our new boss is very picky so double check that you have exactly what he wants. I didn’t know he was going to be so picky about it. Thanks for the heads up. 오늘의 표현은 to be picky입니다. The meaning of ‘pick’ is to choose something deliberately or carefully. If you are picky it means that you are very choosy, overly critical about something, or excessively concerned with cleanliness. A picky person is usually hard to please which makes it difficult on others. “It looks great to me, but keep in mind that our new boss is very picky so double check that you have exactly what he wants.” “Tommy is a picky eater.” Here is another example. “I don’t think it’s good to be so picky all the time. It makes it hard on the other person.” Now that you know what today’s expression means, let’s listen to the conversation for the last time.
